Al Mourjan Garden Business Lounge Review

As we continued our Business Class journey back to Australia, we spent a few hours in Doha, a popular stopover or layover destination for round the world trips –  prior to our Business Class flight with Qatar Airways.

The Al Mourjan Garden Business Lounge is one of the many Qatar Airways lounges in Doha. Others include the Al Mourjan Business Lounge and the Al Safwa First Lounge, all of which offer an excellent experience.

Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Garden Business Lounge is Qatar Airways’ newest lounge, located in the North side of the terminal. With both business lounges offering a similar experience, each do have their pros and cons.

Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Garden Business Lounge Doha Location & Entry

This lounge took a little while longer to get to, being located in the airport’s north terminal expansion, near the tropical garden (which we can only assume is how it got its name). To find the Al Mourjan Garden Business Lounge, follow the signs in the direction of gates C, D and E.

Fair warning: It’s a long walk. You can either take the airport’s train system one stop, or you can stretch out your legs and enjoy the walk. We were lucky enough to get a buggy ride, which took about 5 minutes.

Look for two sets of elevators behind the Louis Vuitton store. There is no Qatar Airways branding, so use Louis Vuitton as your guide. One thing worth mentioning is the lounge is open 24/7, as Qatar Airways has flights all hours of the day and night.

This lounge in particular can accommodate just over 700 guests at one time, making it a bit smaller than the original Al Mourjan Business Lounge. After taking the elevator to the next level, you’ll find a customer service desk when stepping out. The lounge is located to both the left and the right of the elevators, with the Louis Vuitton Lounge located directly in front.

The Lounge is essentially split into two areas, the left being the quieter space for business or relaxation, while the right holding the food, dining areas and bars.

The ceilings are high in this lounge, which we can assume would allow good natural light to flow in during the day. Although we travelled in the evening, the lounge still offered good lighting and also an excellent view over the garden.

To the left of the entrance is a range of comfortable seating options along with private booths. Due to the lounge being all open plan, we found this to provide a good level of privacy. All seats were also angled towards the view, something you don’t often see in a lounge.

A similar decor follows throughout the lounge, with high ceilings, lower style lounges, interesting sculptures.

Around the lounge there were plenty of wireless charging options along with powerpoints located under the tables. These were able to accommodate multiple devices – a handy option!

Al Mourjan Business Lounge Doha Nap Rooms

Located straight after the entrance to the left you’ll find 24 nap rooms, with a reception located outside to manage room inventory. These are available on a first come, first served basis. Each nap room is private, with the choice of one or two loungers. Although there is a blanket, there aren’t any pillows and the seat is in a fixed position.

Al Mourjan Business Lounge Dining Areas, Food & Drink

With the main dining area located to the right of the entrance, here you’ll find an extensive range of food and drinks, with both a la carte and buffet options.

The a la carte menu includes everything from sandwiches to salads all the way to pasta and desserts. The drinks selection also offers Laurent-Perrier Brut as the house option, one that is also served in the Al Safwa First Lounge.

Due to limited time in the lounge and also eating prior in the Al Mourjan Business Lounge, we didn’t didn’t sample anything from the menu. Arriving in the evening, there were similar options on display as the other Qatar Airways Doha Business Lounge.

One thing that’s very apparent in all Qatar Airways Doha Lounges is the staff attentiveness. When we found a quiet spot to work, we were asked if we would like a refreshment or a snack. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Additional Facilities

As you enter on the left side, there is an area with lockers to store your luggage. The staff were very attentive, taking out luggage and finding it a space.

One of the most exciting updates for the lounge is the Dior Spa. While there is no confirmed date for when it will be opening, manicures and pedicures, massage chairs, relaxation chairs and treatment rooms will all be available. Treatments are to be paid for, however we feel this is pretty common in Business Class lounges.

There are also family rooms and kids rooms to help occupy the little ones. There was a pool table, Xbox and many more options available for entertainment.

A nice touch was a baby changing room. In here you’ll find a large bench with a sink, lotions and moisturisers, a changing table and also a sterilising machine for baby bottles.

What Are Our Final Thoughts?

To put it simply, the Qatar Airways Doha lounges don’t disappoint, and the Al Mourjan Garden Business Lounge continue this.

Having two separate areas, one for relaxation and work, while the other for dining and drinks, allows the lounge to feel secluded while still open plan.

The seating offered was ample, while the booths offered privacy for those who wanted it.

We can imagine that the additional facilities such as nap rooms, a kids play area and a baby changing room also would be a welcoming change for many travelling with young children.
