SWISS Business Lounge E Zurich Review

In February 2016, SWISS International Airlines opened brand new lounge facilities in the E Terminal area, which is excellent news for our long haul travelers on the popular SWISS round the world business class airfares as this is where you would spend transit time before departure on an intercontinental flight. Susan from our team visited Zurich to get a first hand look at the new facilities.

Swiss Lounge E Business Zurich

There are 3 lounges spread over 3,300 square metres with an area for First Class, Business Class and a Senator lounge for high tier frequent flyer members and those flying on other Star Alliance carriers. It’s great that paying business class guests on SWISS get their own dedicated area which helps keep the feeling of exclusivity.

The lounge is very attractive in a neutral design and even on a day like today where it is approaching evening and is raining, has a light and airy feel to the lounge. Either side of the lounge has floor to ceiling glass windows.

There are plenty of lounge areas to sit, it doesn’t feel like one big space as there is clever use of wooden dividers between seating areas. As you walk into the lounge, the cold buffet is on the right and lounge seating on the left. Lounge seats are dark leather with table lamps scattered throughout, giving a cosy feel.

Continue along the cold buffet, turn right and you will find the hot meal station. Thai curries are the order of the day, yellow and green, also serving creamy mushroom soup. There is a good size meals area with either table seating or diner style overlooking the runway.

Follow the lounge towards the bathrooms and you’ll find on the left a “Relax Area” , this room is very quiet, no phones permitted, with 8 recliner chairs to catch up on sleep.

At the very end are the bathrooms, I couldn’t see showers but a sign in the bathroom directs you to front for more details. All in all, it’s a very sleek lounge and the light and wood give it a refined Swiss feel.
