Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Adelaide And Business Class Review

Recently we flew with Singapore Airlines from Adelaide to Singapore in their Business Class, we also had a chance to visit their Business Class Lounge at Adelaide Airport. Although Adelaide Airport is relatively quite it can get busy when there is an international flight leaving so it was a welcome rest bite to enter the quiet lounge.

Finding the lounge can be difficult if you don’t know where you are going, as it is the only airline lounge after international security and you have to go down an escalator to enter the lounge. The space its self is nicely laid out with armchairs around coffee tables and a long self serve buffet table. All of the food options are light meals that can be eaten on the go, like Yoghurt pots and sandwiches as the lounge only opens 90 minutes before departure. The lounge also has WiFi, and television screens to keep you updated before your flight.

Singapore Airlines A350 is in a 1-2-1 configuration giving all passengers aisle access, and privacy in pod-like seats with a retractable divider between the two middle seats. Like other business class cabins, the seats are laid out in an alternating pattern, some are closer to the window other have the console between the seat and the console. The seat closest to the window has more privacy but the outer seat has a greater sense of space. The middle seats has the same pattern, the two seats closer together are ideal for couples.

The seat its self is very private with side panels blocking noise from the aisle. Around the seat there is also plenty of storage including a compartment in the console that holds complimentary noise-cancelling headphones and magazines, as well as USB and AC power points to charge your devices while in the air. Small bags or other personal items can also be stowed under the footrest.

The fully flat bed extends to two metres in length and is comfortable but it would have been nice to have another pillow, the only one available was the decorative pillow. This was not a huge problem as this was a day flight but a different pillow would be more comfortable for sleeping.

As always the meal service onboard Singapore Airlines did not disappoint, with a three-course lunch including a range of different options to choose from, and a cheese cart being wheeled down the aisle, there is something for everyone.
