Helvetic Air Review
Recently while travelling from Europe to Hong Kong as part of the Lufthansa Global fare, we flew with Helvetic Air on a SWISS operated flight from Frankfurt to Zurich.
As this was a smaller regional flight boarding involved caching a bus from the gate at Frankfurt airport, even though all of the passengers were getting on the same bus they still let business class passengers board first.
While you travel to the plane you get a great view of Frankfurt Airport from the ground and if you are a fan of aviation be sure to get a window seat to make sure you see everything.
Once we started boarding the plane it was relatively quick as we didn’t need to wait for anyone at the gate.
The interior of the plane has in a 2-2 configuration with 3 rows for business class at the front. There isn’t much difference between the seats in business and economy, however business class passengers do get access to the toilet at the front of the plane and a dedicated flight attendant.
The seat is pretty standard for domestic economy in terms of leg room but it did feel wider which added comfort. I was lucky enough to have a window seat and so got to enjoy some amazing views of Germany during the flight.
The flight which is supposed to take an hour from Frankfurt to Zurich only took about 50 minutes if that, it felt very quick. As it was only a short flight we were only offered a beverage during the flight, however the options were quite extensive including wine, soft drink, tea, coffee, juice and water.
The flight was incredibly smooth and a great experience topped off by Swiss chocolates when we landed. Again after landing in Zurich we had to catch a bus to the terminal but it was a lot closer than in Frankfurt so it was a very quick trip.
