United Club Los Angeles Airport Review

We recently visited the United Club Lounge Los Angeles before flying with United Airlines from Los Angeles to Newark on a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner in United Airlines Polaris Business Class. The United Club Los Angeles is one of two United Lounges in Los Angeles airport, with United Polaris being only available to international departures, and United Club, for all transcontinental flights. The lounge is open 4:30am to 12:15am daily. 

Access is available for eligible premium cabin passengers travelling on an international itinerary, in United Business Class on a premium transcontinental flight and passengers travelling in First Class or Business Class on a Star Alliance member airline.

United Club is located in Terminal 7 next to Gate 71, straight after security screening and to the right. After checking in at reception, I headed up the escalators to the lounge area and was greeted by impressive view. The entire lounge is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows that provide views of the tarmac and United Airlines aircraft. This made the space not only feel welcoming, but also very bright and open. 

On this particular day there were quite a number of people in the lounge, however given the expansive space and windows, it didn’t feel overcrowded and it was still easy to find a seat.

As you walk through the lounge you will pass a range of seating options – couches, lounges and high bar desks for working. With every seat having a selection of charging points and Wi-Fi offered free of charge, it made it easy for those travelling for business to continue with work.

The bar is located toward the back of the lounge with TV screens located above the area showing a variety of stations from news to sport. Surrounding the bar are tables designed for dining, whilst the food bar is located off to the right.

Due to arriving at breakfast, a selection of breakfast food was on offer. These ranged from breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs and a selection of toppings, a fruit bar, oatmeal options, a range of bagels, along with muffins and breads with a choice of condiments. It was a fairly light offering considering the size of the lounge, however I suspect they may monitor flights and base serving options on these.

Past the bar is an outdoor terrace which gives people the option to get fresh air while overlooking the tarmac. This was a nice feature as you’ll often find yourself spending majority of time indoors when travelling.

Although the lounge didn’t have any additional features like showers, the large space and good views make it a comfortable and relaxing environment to relax prior to your flight.
