Lufthansa Premium Economy Review
Thinking of flying premium economy? RoundAbout Travel Airfare Consultant Michelle recently travelled in Lufthansa’s premium economy cabin to Europe.
Lufthansa Economy is currently priced from $1867 and Premium Economy from $3694. So what do you get for your extra money?
More Space
The Lufthansa premium economy seats are really very spacious with an extra inch in width and importantly a 38inch pitch compared to the 31inch pitch in Economy
More Comfort
Upon arrival Lufthansa premium economy passengers receive a welcome drink, plus you’ll find a practical travel kit and a bottle of water in your seat pocket.
Better Meals
You’ll dine from a special premium economy menu with fresh food options along with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcohlic beverages. Special meals are available for passengers with dietary requirements.
More Baggage
Premium economy passengers can check in 2 x 23kg bags – twice as much as economy passengers.
Lounge Access (for a fee)
Lufthansa premium economy passengers are able to purchase access to the business class lounges in Germany, the USA and Paris CDG. Current prices for adults to access the Business lounges is 25 euros in Europe (15 euros for children aged 2-12) and 35 USD in The States. Access to the Lufthansa Welcome Lounge is Frankfurt is also available for 50 euros (35 for 2-12 year olds).
Is premium economy worth it? We make it very clear to our clients that Premium Economy is a great option if you’re used to flying economy and are looking for a bit more room and comfort. If you’re accustomed to business class and are looking at premium economy as a cheaper option you may be disappointed as you’ll be sure to miss some of the business class bells and whistles.
