SWISS First Class Inflight Dining Review
We flew First Class with SWISS between LA and Zurich on a SWISS 3 Continent Global Fare featuring fine Swiss cuisine served onboard. You can read our cabin & Suite review here, and take a look at the SWISS first class menus and inflight dining below.
SWISS First Class Menu
SWISS airlines regularly update their menus to feature the cuisine of different Cantons, or regions, of Switzerland. Top chefs from around Switzerland create inflight dishes that highlight the delicacies of their region. On our flight the meals were inspired by the Canton of St Gallen to the east of Zurich.
The menus included a 3 course main meal as well as a selection of SWISS cheeses and European wines.
SWISS First Class Inflight Dining
Upon boarding we were offered a welcome champagne and a snack to enjoy while the rest of the plane boarded and we prepared to take off.
Following take off we were served a small starter/amuse bouche before the full dinner service. The starter consisted of a small piece of seared tuna with breadsticks.
After the starter the full meal service started. The SWISS First Class firs course dishes are usually served on a trolley with the options presented for you to choose from. In our case the flight attendants had some issues with the trolley due to turbulence and instead just asked us which dish we would like. I chose the marinated scallops with rice noodle salad and was not disappointed.
For main course I ordered the seared salmon which was served with a spinach filled ravioli. The flight attendant asked if i would also like a salad which I happily accepted. The salad was a fresh green salad with grapes and pine nuts and was a perfect accompaniment to the pasta dish.
The meal was finished off with vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and caramelised bananas.
Breakfast was served a couple of hours before landing, and included European breakfast options such as cold meats and cheeses, healthy options such as fruits and cereals, and cooked options such as omelettes.
The meal is structured in seperate segments so you can mix and match depending on how hungry you are, or how much time you have left of the flight. We enjoyed some fresh fruit, pastry and muesli followed by an omelette which was the freshest and tastiest cooked breakfast we’ve ever had on a flight.
Overall the meals onboard SWISS First Class were exceptional and a real dining experience. The meals constructed in small serves allowing you to mix and match to suit your hunger needs are a great way to enjoy inflight dining.
