New Lufthansa Lounges at Munich
Lufthansa has opened a grand total of five new lounges in their Satellite terminal at Munich Airport.
The Satellite was designed to be used exclusively by Lufthansa and its partner airlines, allowing them to tailor the building to their passenger’s specific needs. At a size of 125,000 m2, it integrates the existing control tower into the design, along with 52 additional gates, two Lufthansa Service Centres, 42 passport checkpoints and twenty security checkpoints. An impressive marketplace with a large number of shops and restaurants completes the experience.
Each of the lounges are located in the central area of the Satellite making them easily and quickly accessible for customers.
First Class Lounge
This lounge covers an area of approximately 1,000 m2 and perhaps as you’d expect, is situated on the top level of the building. First Class passengers and HON Circle members can gain access to relax in the luxurious atmosphere that includes a spacious roof terrace, comfortable lounges and a spectacular view of the airport apron. There are a range of different areas for sleeping, working and relaxing. A bar area, exclusive bathrooms and a separate cigar lounge. The restaurant offers a la carte dining as well as the usual buffet choices. We love the convenience of the separate passport control area in this lounge, allowing you a comfortable entry to your flight (and exit on arrival) with no need to enter the main airport terminal again. If a flight arrives or departs from an apron location, a limousine service will bring you directly into the First Class Lounge or to the aircraft.
Senator and Business Lounges
The Senator and Business Lounges on the non-Schengen level offer Lufthansa business class passengers a special treat: A bar with bartender extends along the panoramic window across both lounges which, besides hot and cold drinks, serves specialty coffees and cocktails. At the buffet, you’ll find the famous Munich Senator Lounge warm meat loaf with pretzels and potato salad is available, as well as regularly changing hot dishes or breakfast in the morning. Business Lounge guests can relax in the bistro area where comfortable armchairs encourage rest and relaxation. These lounges also offer separate work areas, a TV area and well-appointed shower rooms.
The new lounges opened on schedule in April of this year and we think they include some particularly unique features for passengers to enjoy while bridging their time before their arrival at the airport and flight departure.
