Explore Qantas’ A330 Upgrades on Round the World Fares
Qantas has recently announced a significant upgrade to the cabins on its ten Airbus A330s, bringing next-gen comfort and technology to this essential part of its fleet. Customers will see the biggest transformation to Economy with brand-new seats, entertainment touchscreens, USB-C fast charging and Bluetooth audio connectivity. The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2026. Round the World travellers will have an even more enjoyable experience on the updated planes when travelling on Qantas RTW airfare and other oneworld carriers through Asia.
Qantas A330 Upgrades for Round the World Travellers
The multimillion-dollar A330 upgrade investment will focus on improvements to the economy cabin. This includes new mood lighting and replacing of all curtains and carpets. Qantas Economy passengers will notice that all economy seats will be enhanced with the same comfortable, ergonomically designed seats used on its Project Sunrise A350s, which have been designed for maximum comfort during long-haul flights between Sydney and London.
The airline has also improved in-flight entertainment equipping the new Economy seats with 13.3″ 4K OLED touchscreens. This will give guests access to a wide selection of entertainment options in high resolution. Passengers will enjoy USB-C fast charging and Bluetooth audio connectivity, allowing you to use your own headphones and making it simpler to stay connected and entertained.
After receiving positive feedback from customers, Qantas has decided to keep the existing Business Class Suites on the A330. This keeps the same seat style on most of the Qantas long haul products including the A380 and Boeing 787.
Passengers will be able to experience the upgraded A330 when travelling on many RTW itineraries, including Qantas, oneworld and Finnair. Qantas flies the A330 from Australia to Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
Travellers can now look forward to international Wi-Fi on the A330 fleet. The airline will launch high-speed, complimentary internet access for select Asia routes beginning this December. Passengers on Wi-Fi-enabled aircrafts are already connecting over Australia to destinations like Hong Kong, Delhi, and Bengaluru. This will enhance their in-flight experience with seamless connectivity.
This upgrade will align internet speeds with Qantas Domestic flights, where the speed and reliability of inflight Wi-Fi have led to an average usage rate of 75 percent, with some routes reaching up to 100 percent uptake.
Final Thoughts
Qantas’s A330 upgrades reflect its commitment to delivering an improved experience for passengers across its international network. Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said, “We’ve used our fleet renewal program to completely rethink the inflight experience, and these cabin upgrades mean we can bring next-generation features and designs to our existing aircraft.” With new seats, improved connectivity, and enhanced entertainment, Qantas’s A330 upgrade will make the journey that much more enjoyable for RTW customers.
