Singapore Airlines New A350 Business Class Cabin

We hoped onboard Singapore Airlines all new Airbus A350-900 and took a look around their new ‘Medium Haul’ Business class cabin. This new business class cabin features fully flat beds and is being rolled out on Singapore Airlines’ 6-8 hour flights.

The aircraft features a higher ceiling, larger windows and wider body to give a greater sense of space as well as an inflight lighting system designed to reduce jetlag. All in the name of increasing onboard comfort.

Business Class Cabin

The new medium haul business class cabin is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, giving every business class passenger direct aisle access, and is split into 2 smaller cabins, providing a more comfortable inflight experience.

Business Class Seat

The new business class seats, which convert to a fully flat bed, feature a pleasant neutral colour palette. The cocoon like shell is a soft grey, while the seat is a luxurious brown leather.

Like other business class cabins, the seats are laid out in an alternating formation with some being near to the window, having the console table on the aisle side. And the others having the console on the window side of the seat. the pros and cons for each seat option depend on personal preference. The window side seat provides greater privacy, however the aisle side seat provides a greater sense of space.

The seats in the middle of the cabin are the same, alternating between the seats being next to each other, with tables on the outside, and seats apart, with tables on the inside.

Fully Flat Bed

All of the business class seats convert to 2 metre long fully flat beds. The alternating design of the seat layout provides room for the beds to be straight and with only a little narrowing of the footspace.

Controls & Inflight Entertainment

Within the seat you’ll find all of the controls at your finger tips. Including the main panel that only lights up when touched, reducing the level of ambient light so as not to disrupt your sleep.

Your seat has a handy fixed side table along with a storage compartment with door which can be used to safely store your inflight essentials.

Each seat is equipped with a 30cm high definition touch screen monitor with access to over 1,800 movies, TV shows, songs and games in the award winning myKrisWorld inflight entertainment system.

Upon boarding you’ll find a pair of slippers and noise cancelling headphones in your seat to provide a better inflight experience

The business class menu on Singapore Airlines is widely regarded as one of the best in the sky. A multi course meal on fine tableware is served to each business class passenger along with an extensive premium wine list to match. Business class passengers also have to the option to pre-order specialty meals including dishes such as Lobster thermidor via the airlines’ Book The Cook programme.
