Emirates 777-200LR Business Class Review
Wanting a more luxurious airline for your next round the world trip? Step onboard the Emirates 777-200LR Business Class for the ultimate RTW trip.
Recently our Marketing Coordinator, Anjelica, travelled from Adelaide to Dubai onboard the Emirates 777-200LR Business Class product.
Since Emirates had just returned to Adelaide, we thought it would be a great idea to send Anjelica to review their product. The airline made this announcement in early 2024 and did its first flight at the end of October.
Daily flights are now operated by the Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, offering 38 Business Class seats for passengers flying between Adelaide and Dubai. Emirates Business Class is a great round the world option for travellers wanting ultimate comfort. Whilst you won’t travel in one direction and cross the Pacific Ocean like a traditional round the world airfare, you can utilise their world class hub in Dubai to combine routing options for a range of creative, multi stop itineraries to explore the globe whilst experiencing their award winning service.

Emirates Business Class Boarding
Business Class guests flying round the world with Emirates are able to take advantage of the complimentary chauffeur-driven transfers from your home to the airport. Unfortunately, I booked using Frequent Flyer Points which meant I was unable to use this service. At Adelaide Airport, I was able to skip the long queue for check-in and just go into the priority lane. I had extra baggage allowance, priority baggage, priority security and also access to the Plaza Premium Lounge. Read our review of the Plaza Premium Lounge.
After this seamless experience, I was one of the first on the Emirates 777-200LR Business Class cabin with priority boarding. The minute I stepped onto the plane I was escorted to my seat and had my carry on luggage stored in the overhead for me. This was a great small detail that made me feel looked after immediately.
On my seat was a pillow, a really thick blanket, headphones, slippers and an eye mask.
The Welcome on Emirates Business Class
Soon enough, I was provided with an option of champagne, apple juice or orange juice for a welcome drink. I was also handed the infamous Bvlgari Amenity Kit- keep reading to find out what was included. The Emirates 777-200LR Business Class staff then brought me my loungewear, a hot towel, and also the menu for late-night dining and breakfast.
The staff were lovely as they introduced themselves to me and chatted with me about the amenities onboard and about Emirates. It made me feel like I was important to them and it was very impressive service.
This makes Emirates a top option for a round the world fare, consistently rated as one of the top 3 airlines in the world. They offer a unique range of routes which can be combined to create a ‘mini round the world’ or multi-continent fare offerings.
Emirates 777-200LR Business Class Layout and Seats
This particular aircraft’s layout is in a 2-2-2 cabin with 38 Business Class seats available. Overall, the cabin was pretty empty which I assumed is from being one of the first resumed flights out of Adelaide to Dubai. I had the seat next to me free which made the entire experience much more enjoyable. At first glance the cabin colours, details and design feels a bit over-the-top, being quite glitzy and glamorous. But it actually felt really elevated, unique and luxurious once I spent longer inside.
The soft leather fabric seats not only look luxurious but are really comfortable too. Each of the Emirates 777-200LR Business Class seats includes a personal mini-bar, 23-inch inflight touchscreen entertainment system, privacy panels and personal lighting options. The seats were wide and deep, with lots of foot space. When travelling round the world, it is extra important to have these luxuries available. It creates a smoother transition between continents and allows for a better travel experience.
Next to the seat was a touchscreen controller that was as big as an iPad. It contained all the information about the plane, lighting and seat positioning controls, window shutters and it linked to the main screen so you could pause/play from the touchscreen controller. Below that was another smaller hand-held controller more suitable to control the main screen. I was happy to see a range of pre-set seating positions, as well as the ability to choose the exact seat positioning.
Emirates 777-200LR Business Class Storage
In terms of storage, there was a tiny space on the left side of my seat where the power ports were. This would be good storage for a small handbag or your phone. In front of me, there was a mesh storage unit which I put my shoes in. This would also fit a small handbag or the amenity kit. Plus, there was a compartment that contained 2 bottles of Evian water in front of me. Apart from that, there were no other types of big compartments, only small magazine reader holders. I didn’t find it too much of an issue considering there was also the overhead compartment.
Fully Flat Bed Emirates 777 Business Class
The fully flat bed wasn’t as long as what I expected it to be. I’m quite short at 164cm and felt like my feet were a bit too close to the edge. Otherwise, the mattress topper and blanket were super cosy and the staff were very accommodating, constantly checking up on me. Paired with the silky pyjamas and eye mask- I had a great sleep! It felt very private to sleep in as the divider was quite large and since I was next to the window I was in my own little bubble.
It’s good to keep in mind the seats in the aisle seem to be a little less private, as there is no type of divider for them at the aisle. A cute bonus was that they had stars projected onto the ceiling- it made it feel even more cosy. When travelling round the world, aircrafts may differ. Emirates Business Class Onboard Dining
Before I took off, I was given a menu and also asked for my order. Available was a selection of juices and soft drinks, mocktails, hot drinks and also a long list of cocktails! Other beverages included beer, wine, spirits and liqueurs from brands including Hennessey X.O, Grey Goose and Chivas Regal 18 year Old blend.
I was brought my mocktail of choice (Apple Spritzer!) as well as a choice between olives or nuts for a small snack before my meal. I really loved how great the Emirates service was and how much attention to detail there was. I was given a little fork for my olives, which is a great example of how detailed their service is. Expect top notch quality and service on all your round the world flights when you book an Emirates Business Class Round the World fare.
Late Night Dining
The Late Night Dining included menu items from the Middle East but also had a bit of Western influence. I ordered the Traditional Arabic Mezze which came with a selection of pita bread, houmous, muhammara, dolmades, baba ghanouj, Kalamata olives and lamb kibbeh.
Unfortunately, the pita bread was cold, and I think it could have been better to have it warm with the dips. Otherwise, the dips and the dolmades were so delicious. They were served in a generous amount and had heaps of flavour and authenticity to them. The lamb kibbeh was a little cold, a bit dry and had little flavour but was a nice addition of protein. From the bread cart, I picked a pita that was warm, soft and coated with Middle Eastern spices. There was a little olive oil and butter that was provided- a small detail that always speaks volumes!
I was a bit disappointed since there were only a few small triangles of pita provided with the meze, however, I’m sure that if I asked for more they would definitely have given it to me. There was a great variety of items on the menu to choose from, which I was really delighted about. Everything was served on Robert Welch silverware which felt more elevated than standard Business Class cutlery. I was encouraged to order more but was so full! I did, however, enjoy the little chocolates given after my meal as they were divine. One was a Neuhaus milk chocolate with smooth almond praline and the other was made out of rare Criollo cacao with dark chocolate ganache in the centre.
Breakfast
In the morning I was served breakfast, which I had ordered at the start of the flight. It was definitely a highlight of the meal service and honestly some of the best aeroplane food I had ever had.
I chose the Bircher Museli which came in a large serving and was packed with heaps of texture and flavour. Accompanying it was lots of fresh fruit inside the muesli which was delicious and a great addition. Plus, I was given a small side dish of fruit that was fresh. From the bread basket, I chose a warm croissant to have on the side. It tasted like one you’d get at a patisserie and it came with butter and jam. Our drink of choice was tea and freshly squeezed orange juice- nothing too spectacular.
Emirates Business Class Extras and Amenities
Emirates went above and beyond with the extra inclusions and amenities onboard. The in-seat mini bar was incredible and totally one-of-a-kind. It contained a sparkling water, nut mix, protein bar and a drinking glass. The doors could be clicked open and closed too. To be picky, the mini bar was not actually cold, so the water was warm. When I had the seat up, I was unable to access it too since the door wouldn’t open.
The Bvlgari Amenity Kit was really generous and had lots of great products inside. I suspected there was a men’s and women’s one since I saw the staff handing out different kits and mine had particularly feminine products inside.
Not only was the toiletries bag itself from Bvlgari, but several of the products were. In Business Class, I was given lip balm, face emulsion, eau de toilette, and body lotion from Bvlgari. Other products included a comb, hair tie, ear plugs, tissues, roll-on Rexona deodorant, a compact mirror and a dental kit. It was definitely an impressive Amenity Kit for a Business Class flight. Out of all round the world fares, the Emirates Business Class Amenity Kit takes the win every time.
Entertainment-wise there was a 23-inch wide screen with thousands of hours of entertainment on it. I found there to be a good selection of new movies available and the headphones were good quality. I liked that the sound and everything could be controlled by the handheld device which meant I didn’t have to lean forward. The main screen was not only wide but there was a good distance between myself and the screen.
Emirates 777-200LR Business Class Summary
Being onboard the Emirates 777-200LR Business Class was an incredible experience from start to finish. With excellent dining, amazing service and an array of inclusions, amenities and extras, Emirates has really ticked all the boxes. Although on the pricer side for round the world travel, it sure is a luxurious experience from start to finish.
There were honestly very minor changes I would have liked on the flight, making it one of my favourite Business Class products on the market.
Emirates Business Class is definitely worth it, especially for travellers doing long-haul round the world flights.
