Lufthansa Business Class A350 Review
Our Marketing Assistant, Harriet, recently flew with Luftansa on their A350 between Singapore and Munich. The Lufthansa Business Class Global Fare will take you to Europe and 2 other continents, with more route options than other round the world tickets.
This round the world fare can even be combined with SWISS and Austrian and you can mix and match various cabin classes. Europe will always be the second stop, but you can visit Asia, North America or Africa in a variety of orders. The Lufthansa Business Class Global Fare is arguably one of the best value airfares on the market. Discuss with an airfare specialist to learn more about this deal.
Harriet took the Lufthansa’s A350 Business Class, one of their older models which has a 2-2-2 configuration. They’ve recently introduced the new Allegris Business Class cabins with 5 distinct seating options, all with direct aisle access. She is curious to experience one of these newer cabins in the future to compare the features.

Lufthansa Business Class Cabin and Seat
Walking into the cabin, my first impression was how light and open the area was without each seat having walls or dividers. However, the A350’s Business Class cabin is configured in a 2-2-2 layout which, while efficient for maximising seating, is less ideal for solo travellers. If you’re seated in a window seat, you’ll need to walk around your neighbour to reach the aisle, which can be inconvenient. As a solo traveller, I was glad to have been assigned a seat in the middle section with direct aisle access. If you’re travelling on a long-haul round the world ticket in Lufthansa Business Class, I’d strongly recommend selecting a middle seat for a more comfortable journey.
Waiting at my seat was a mattress topper, a plush blanket, a medium-sized pillow, slippers and an amenity kit. I would have liked more storage around the seat for personal items. The only space was under the footwell, a document holder under the entertainment screen and a small space inside the armrest. There were charging ports inside the armrest which was a nice touch, but only really room for a phone not big enough for a tablet.
Unlike the window seats, which are both angled towards the window, the middle seats are angled towards each other. The seats were very open so I felt very close to my seatmate. It would have been nice if there had been a divider to provide a little more privacy. The seats themselves were comfortable and had good support when in the seated position. I could adjust each section of my seat individually or use one button to move to a reclined or bed position.
After reclining, I placed the mattress topper and pillow on the seat. The mattress topper was nice and comfortable and covered the groves in the seat making it feel more like a bed. Once lying flat I noticed that the seat was not very wide, and unfortunately due to the shape of the back of the seat and the armrests, it was hard to move around. Again, because the middle seats angled towards each other without a divider, I had to make sure my legs didn’t get in the way of my seatmate’s because our footrests were right next to each other. The airline have introduced newer A350s for long-haul travel, which have greater privacy and comfort. On a round the world ticket this would be a great for long-haul travel. Discuss with an airfare specialist for more information about which routes have this newer cabin.
Lufthansa Business Class Amenities
At first, I thought I didn’t get an amenity kit because it was in the storage compartment below the entertainment screen and I needed to look for it. The Porsche-designed amenity kit had a nice case and featured a pair of socks, hand cream, moisturiser, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Wireless headphones were also provided. Before take off the crew walked through the cabin offering sleep shirts to passengers which were soft and nice to sleep in. I thought it was strange that only a top was offered without any sleep bottoms, but it was a nice touch and something that is not available in many Business Classes.
Lufthansa Business Class Entertainment and WiFi
The entertainment screen was a good size and had the ability to slide towards the centre of the seat. There was a good range of options available on the entertainment system with a good selection of new releases, TV shows and classic movies. The screen was controlled with a remote that was connected to the area inside the armrest, which meant it could be stored away when not used, but it did mean that to use the remote you couldn’t have anything on the armrest. The WiFi was easy to connect to but I found it to be a bit slow and patchy which made it difficult to do work, however being an overnight flight I didn’t need to use it that much anyway.
Lufthansa Business Class Meal Service
Meal service began shortly after take-off with an amuse-bouche, which was tomato, basil and bocconcini. For the next course, I ordered the chicken salad, which was tasty and fresh. For the main, I opted for the beef with potatoes, which lacked visual presentation but it was still a nice meal. The whole meal service took almost two hours, which I thought was a bit drawn out for a night flight, particularly because our flight left Singapore late at night, and most people wanted to sleep. Because it was getting quite late, instead of dessert, I was given some Lindt Pralines, which I preferred as I was able to get ready for a night of sleep.
Around two hours before landing, my breakfast order was taken. I chose the waffles instead of a hot breakfast consisting of eggs and mushrooms- the waffles tasted good and were served with custard and jam, fruit, yoghurt and a breakfast smoothie.
Additionally, there were self-serve drinks and snacks in the galley that included bottles of water, cookies, fruit, and juice, but they weren’t replenished throughout the flight, so I had to get in quickly!
Summary
Flying on a Lufthansa Business Class Global Fare is a good round the world option if you have a more unique itinerary planned. The flight was comfortable and had many enjoyable moments. The 2-2-2 configuration is something to be aware of and for some passengers, it might be a less desirable option if you are a solo traveller, especially compared to other Business Class suites with direct aisle access and privacy sliders. I am excited to see the new Allgeris Business Class fitted on more planes so that I might get the opportunity to experience this updated Business Class option.
