Lufthansa have ordered 32 Boeing 787-9s along with 26 A350-900’s and while many are factory fresh and will feature the airlines newly designed ‘Allegris’ Business Class when they begin to arrive from mid-2023, several aircraft will feature a completely different Lufthansa Business Class product.

5 of the Boeing 787-9’s were originally intended for China’s Hainan Airlines. Lufthansa took delivery of the first aircraft in August 2022 with 3 now in operation. The Business Class product is a refurbished version of the Collins Aerospace Super Diamond reverse herringbone, with fully flat seats and a 1-2-1 configuration meaning direct aisle access for all seats. This is a huge improvement on the airline’s previous 2-2-2 product. Flights operated by the new Boeing’s can be included on a range of round the world itineraries with Lufthansa.
