Lufthansa First Class Lounge Frankfurt Review
Before boarding Lufthansa First Class on their Boeing 747-800, we visited the Lufthansa First Class Lounge in Frankfurt Airport. There are two lounges in Frankfurt airport, one in the airport and the other in a dedicated First Class Terminal, which is comparable to a VIP terminal. Although we originally planned to visit the Lufthansa First Class Terminal, a short connection time didn’t allow enough time for this, meaning we opted for the Lufthansa First Class Lounge within the airport. The Lufthansa First Class Lounge is accessible to all First Class passengers on Lufthansa flights as well as HON Circle members. Passengers on other Star Alliance carriers, even when travelling in First Class, cannot use the lounge.
The Lufthansa First Class Lounge is located on the first floor of the Frankfurt Airport. If you’re travelling through Frankfurt airport in the future, we have an entire guide to the Frankfurt Airport which you can read here. We were firstly greeted by friendly staff (and lots of them!). The first thing we noticed was how quiet the lounge was compared to the Business Class Lounge. There were only a total of three families in the entire lounge, meaning the staff to guest ratio was almost 1:1. This exclusivity and privacy was a great touch for First Class travellers, taking the experience one step further.
Lufthansa First Class Lounge Frankfurt Layout
The lounge offers an open plan concept which provides plenty of space, natural light and great views of the tarmac. There were several seating options from lounge style seats, bar seating, areas with views of the tarmac, along with dining tables to enjoy a meal. There were also work booths for those looking to work during their time in the lounge. This gave travellers a variety of options to choose from, whether they wanted to relax in a cigar lounge or enjoy a meal at the a la carte restaurant.
There was also a First Class Spa located within the lounge, where you can opt for treatments in between flights. A menu was provided to us showcasing a range of massages ranging from 15 minutes to 90 minutes, along with facials for ‘him and her’. We can’t imagine anything better than getting off a plane and enjoying a massage or a facial to refresh. Lufthansa really nailed this addition to the First Class lounge. With the time constraints, this sadly wasn’t something we could enjoy during our trip but look forward to getting to in the future.
Lufthansa First Class Lounge Frankfurt Food And Beverage Options
After admiring the lounge we headed towards the a la carte restaurant to grab a bite to eat. We noticed straight away the attention to detail within the dining area. The tables were already fully set and had lovely fresh flowers too, compared to Business Class tables which are never set for guests.
There was a menu to order off along with a buffet style section which we see available in most lounges, except the food here was nothing but exceptional. From a fully stacked candy bar to freshly shaved prosciutto and fresh pasta coated in cheese (within the cheese wheel itself!), it really stood up to First Class expectations. Along with this there was also freshly baked pastries, breads, fresh fruit and a large variety of salads.
The drinks selection held a similar level of exclusivity, offering a wide range of champagne, wines and a huge variety of Gin, of which we stopped counting as there were simply too many. For our meal we ordered a classic beef burger which came with a Lufthansa chargrilled stamp on the top – very cool. As we expected, it was delicious and continued to live up to the expectations of the lounge.
