Let’s Talk About Lufthansa Allegris
Lufthansa Allegris – a revolutionary product aimed at elevating passenger travel comfort, was officially released by Lufthansa on 25 April in Munich. The unveiling of Allegris marks a significant milestone for the renowned airline after 7 years from first announcing the ‘new travel experience’ for long-haul services.
So what is Lufthansa Allegris?
Lufthansa Allegris promises to focus even more on you, as a guest, meaning a brand new cabin product launched by the German carrier in all flight classes.
Purely focusing on the long-haul routes, the new cabin design is expected to shake up the airspace in terms of setting a new standard in premium air travel.
The new travel experience will commence services from May 1 2024, with the first aircraft being an A350, flying from Munich to Vancouver. Other routes include Toronto, Chicago and Montreal from Munich as more A350s with the Allegris cabins get delivered.
Shanghai & San Francisco are amongst other destinations close to follow with the new Allegris cabins and by the end of 2027, Lufthansa aims to have installed 27,000 new seats across 120 long-haul aircraft.
Allegris First Class Cabin
Lufthansa Allegris First Class cabins are expected to expand offerings with the new ‘Suite Plus’ – a separate double cabin with ceiling-high walls and an entirely closable door.
The new cabin unfortunately is only accessible entering and exiting through the left side. Meaning, if you’re travelling in a pair, someone may have to climb over the other person in order to use the bathroom. This is a bit of an inconvenience during a long-haul flight when you’re sleeping.
The First Class cabin also features a personal wardrobe, large dining table, full-suite width screens, heated and cooled seats, shoulder sink-in and a wireless charging module.
With a prolonged delay in the refurbishment of the First Class cabins on the A350-900 aircraft, Lufthansa CEO, Jens Ritter, announced he expects the seats to be ready by late August – early September.
Lufthansa’s A380’s will not receive any Allegris upgrades across any class.
Allegris Business Class Cabin
Lufthansa Allegris Business Class also boasts a suite, offering more comfort and privacy than their previous long-haul Business Class cabins on their A350-900’s and 787-900’s.
The Business Class cabins have seven different seating types including minisuites in the first row, extra-space seats, window seats, seats with an extra long bed measuring more than 7 feet, privacy window seats with a baby bassinet, double seats and your regular Allegris Business Class seat.
The highlight being the minisuites. With sliding doors and chest-high walls, allowing Lufthansa Business Class travellers to experience more comfort and privacy.
Similar to Qatar’s Qsuites, the privacy provided in these minisuites go unmatched. Despite the various Business Class seats available in the cabin, the other seats don’t have as high a wall and therefore aren’t as private from the rest of the cabin as the minisuites.
Lufthansa Allegris Business Class seats have a screen up to 27 inches in size, heating and cooling systems, a personal minibar (minisuites only), personal Bluetooth connections to entertainment devices and more.
Allegris Premium Economy Class Cabin
The Allegris Premium Economy cabin has a 2-3-2 cabin configuration and closely follows the SWISS Premium Economy seat design.
With a modern hardshell design, a 99 cm seat pitch, wireless device charging for mobile phones etc in the personal armrest, this Lufthansa Allegris Premium Economy cabin really elevates the Economy experience for travellers.
The Premium Economy cabin also provides seats with a fold out footrest and the hardshell design meaning passengers can recline their seat without impacting another traveller’s in-flight experience.
There are no dividers for Premium Economy passengers so the divide between Economy and Premium Economy can be hard to differentiate.
Allegris Economy Class Cabin
Lufthansa Allegris in Economy class has the industry standard of a 3-3-3 cabin configuration.
With a total of 31 inches leg room, larger in-flight entertainment screens and fold down ledges for those travellers wishing to stream on their own devices, the Economy cabin is still elevated in its own form.
