Singapore Airlines has announced it will introduce nonstop flights between Singapore to London Gatwick starting from June 21 2024. As London Heathrow is the primary choice for most travellers, the airport destination has faced chronic slot shortages which has made London Gatwick a more viable option for Singapore Airlines.

Other airlines who also have the long-haul flight option to Gatwick include Air China, Air Mauritius, China Southern, Delta, Ethiopian Airlines and Saudi Airlines. Singapore Airlines A350-900 will be operating the 5 times weekly service with flights expected to go on sale from today! The schedule aims to enhance connectivity and capacity during peak departure and arrival times.

Singapore Airlines will use its A350-900 aircraft for the Gatwick route, configured with 42 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats and 187 Economy Class  seats. This newly launched route will be operating five times a week and departing and arriving during peak European and Southeast Asian travel times. The Gatwick route addition compliments Singapore Airlines existing four daily services to Heathrow, where they utilise a mix of A380 and 777-300ER aircraft. This newly launched service brings the airline to a total weekly London operation of 33 flights.

Scoot airlines, Singapore Airlines subsidiary, previously served Gatwick from 2021 to 2022 with a different schedule and via Bangkok. Other carriers such as British Airways and Qantas included in the summary bring the total number of weekly nonstop flights to 54 between London and Singapore for the summer of 2024.
