Icelandair Business Class Saga Lounge Review

During our recent overseas trip, we flew Business Class with Icelandair (as we were going on a cruise with NCL) and had the opportunity to write a review on their Icelandair Business Class Saga Lounge. Being the only Business Class Lounge in the entire Keflavík International Airport, we were excited to see what it had to offer.

Icelandair Saga Lounge Layout

The Icelandair Business Class Saga Lounge boasts a spacious and uncrowded layout, forming a mostly square dimension and providing a welcome respite from the hustle of Keflavik International Airport. The Saga Lounge design is quite large, with a number of lounge chairs scattered throughout, giving it a comfortable feel. There were also a few small coffee tables accompanying the lounge chairs, as well as some hard tables and chairs near the dining area for those that wanted to properly sit down, eat or work. While the lounge offers a decent dining area, it could enhance its appeal to business travellers by introducing more dedicated working spaces. Currently, the available tables for work are limited, especially outside the dining area. Adding a dedicated working space would contribute to creating additional quiet and functional spaces.

The daylight views from various angles were impressive, offering a visually appealing atmosphere. The expansive windows allowed natural light to flood the lounge, enhancing the overall ambience and providing a sense of connection to the surrounding landscape. Icelandair Business Class Saga Lounge’s artistic elements, such as retro wall art and centre piece crafted from Icelandic rock, enhance its character and make it notably a lot more distinctively designed in comparison to other Business Class lounges we’ve visited.

Icelandair Business Class Saga Lounge Food and Beverage Options

The dining experience in the Business Class lounge was overall good, with the lounge featuring  an eating and snack area providing a variety of options to suit various tastes.

While the snacks are good, it’s important to note that the food choices might not fully satisfy those in search of a decent meal. The lounge does however excel in its alcohol selection, providing an impressive array of spirits, premium vodka, gin, Icelandic beers, and other beverage choices. We found their selection was a nice touch as it ensures visitors can indulge in a good selection of drinks.

Icelandair Business Class Saga Lounge Summary

Overall, we were impressed with the lounge’s large layout and spacious, uncrowded design. Although there was limited workspace outside the dining area, the lounge chairs provided were comfortable and cosy. The interior design touches of the Icelandic centrepiece rock and retro wall art really made the lounge come alive and enhanced its distinctiveness in design elements. The food options were of normal standard to many Business Class lounge offerings, however the drinks on offer were great.
