Lufthansa Business Class Lounge Newark Review

Business Class LoungeLufthansa

We recently flew from Newark to Frankfurt in Lufthansa’s Business Class on their new Boeing 787-9. This was first after visiting the Lufthansa Business Class Lounge in Newark Airport.

The Business Class Lounge is located in Terminal B and opens at 2:30pm, closing when the last flight begins boarding. The lounge has the same entry as the Senator Lounge with Business Class heading to the right and Senator to the left. There is now a wall between the two lounges however this was dropped during the pandemic to make one larger lounge. The lounge provides access to passengers with a Lufthansa Business Class or First Class ticket, Star Alliance First & Business Class, Star Alliance Gold Member and Amex Platinum cardholders.

With seating available for approximately 50-60 people, the Business Class Lounge still feels spacious. I was the first to arrive when the Lounge opened meaning the food was very fresh and untouched. When it was time for my departure the lounge was full, making it near impossible for new arrivals to find a seat.

As you enter the lounge, there is a semi private area with tables, bench seating and chairs, with some under bench charging ports. As you head back out in the main area, you pass a printer, the food service on the left and high tables on the right. The lounge then opens into the main area with couches and chairs to lounge on, along with accessible charging ports.

There was a fairly large food selection of food available, which was all self serve. Hot options include Moroccan lentil soup, chicken cacciatore, potato au gratin, braised sauerkraut and Bavarian pretzels. Cold options included chicken and vegetable wraps, chocolate and raspberry mousse, potato with bacon and several salads.

Additionally there was a Snack Station offering coffee cake, trail mix, chocolate chip cookies, yoghurt covered pretzels, skittles, gummy bears, veggie straws and mixed nuts. Around the side was self serve bar with wine, beer, coffee and soft drinks.

The Lufthansa Business Class Lounge in Newark provided a comfortable place to relax prior to boarding our flight. The food and drink selection was good, while a number of charging ports and seating options were available, making it an easy transition for those travelling for business.
